Description

From February to July 2024 I was a game designer and artist for the indie title Memoria Wake during its early stages of development, which at that point was a student-led project formerly named "Noire". I was responsible for creating early level blockouts and character designs, including enemies and NPCs, as well as game design documents for the various maps, narrative beats, and mechanics in the game. One of the challenges we worked through early on was creating a modular map system or "toolkit" to streamline the production process for each level and establish design standards.

Role & Responsibilities

Game & Level Design

  • Created game design documents for level designs and gameplay systems, including Solura Valley and University Ruins
  • Designed and whiteboxed level maps to establish basic traversal and gameplay flow
  • Collaborated with team on implementing enemy and NPC encounters, narrative, and pacing

2D & 3D Art

  • Designed character designs for enemies and NPCs, including The Handler, The Advisor, and minor enemies
  • Created concept art for various game elements
  • Produced 2D and 3D assets
